Triathica Triathlon Training for Beginner to Experienced Triathletes

STRENGTH

Strength training is often talked about in triathlon circles but frequently gets omitted from the triathlete’s regimen. The usual excuse is that time constraints don’t permit one more routine in the triathlete’s training week.

The thing about strength training (also known as resistance training) is that a little goes a long way. Our normal recommendation is that the triathlete should do some strength training two to three times a week for no more than 60 minutes per session. You can easily get a good workout in around 20-30 minutes. MAKE SURE YOU WARM UP FIRST!

The benefits are significant. Besides improving your swimming, cycling and running performance, it will also help improve your endurance as well as help reduce injuries.

Much of the strength training we prescribe can be done without a lot of expensive gym equipment and can be done at home.
